These Terms & Conditions are applicable for booking through TransitBreak.
1. About TransitBreak
TransitBreak is an online booking platform connecting travelers with independent local tour operators providing layover and transit experiences.
TransitBreak acts as a booking intermediary and does not itself operate tours, provide transportation or deliver sightseeing services. The local tour operator is responsible for delivering the booked experience.
2. Booking & Payment
A booking is confirmed when TransitBreak issues a booking confirmation.
Unless otherwise stated, the total tour price is split into two payments:
- Pay now — the amount paid online when making the booking. For the purposes of these Terms, this is referred to as the TransitBreak booking fee.
- Pay later — the remaining amount paid directly to the local tour operator according to the booking instructions. For the purposes of these Terms, this is referred to as the remaining balance.
Both amounts form part of the total tour price. The split payment does not increase the total tour price.
The total tour price, Pay now amount and Pay later amount are displayed during the booking process.
Online payments are processed through third-party payment providers. TransitBreak does not store complete payment-card details.
Travelers should check their booking confirmation and promptly report any incorrect information.
3. Traveler Responsibilities
Travelers are responsible for:
- providing accurate flight, traveler and contact information;
- ensuring their layover meets the minimum duration stated for the experience;
- meeting all applicable passport, visa, entry, transit and immigration requirements;
- arriving at the agreed meeting point at the required time; and
- allowing sufficient time for their onward flight and required airport procedures.
TransitBreak does not provide visa or immigration advice and cannot guarantee entry into any country.
Minimum layover requirements and experience timings are planned to allow reasonable time for immigration, transfers, airport procedures and return before an onward flight. However, circumstances such as immigration queues, traffic, security procedures and airline disruptions may affect the available time.
4. Traveler Cancellation or Changes
If you cancel:
More than 24 hours before the scheduled experience start time:
The TransitBreak booking fee paid online will be refunded in full.
Less than 24 hours before the scheduled experience start time:
The TransitBreak booking fee is non-refundable.
Requests to change the date, flight details, number of travelers or other booking details are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
If a requested change cannot be accommodated and you choose not to proceed with the original booking, the standard cancellation policy above applies.
5. Flight Delays or Cancellations
If your arriving flight is significantly delayed or cancelled, contact TransitBreak or the tour operator as soon as reasonably possible.
Where circumstances allow, TransitBreak and the operator will first try to adjust the experience to the remaining layover time or reschedule it, subject to operator availability and your revised travel schedule.
If the experience cannot proceed or be rescheduled because of an airline delay, cancellation or schedule change, the TransitBreak booking fee is non-refundable.
TransitBreak may, at its discretion, offer a credit toward a future booking as a goodwill arrangement. Any credit may be subject to an expiry date and other conditions communicated when it is issued.
TransitBreak is not responsible for airline delays, cancellations or schedule changes.
6. Immigration or Visa Issues
Travelers are responsible for confirming that they are eligible to leave the airport and enter the destination country.
If you cannot participate because of visa issues, immigration refusal, insufficient documentation or other entry restrictions applicable to you, the TransitBreak booking fee is non-refundable.
TransitBreak is not responsible for decisions made by immigration, border-control or other government authorities.
7. No-Show
If you fail to attend the agreed pickup or meeting point at the communicated time without making suitable alternative arrangements with TransitBreak or the operator, you may be treated as a no-show.
For traveler no-shows, the TransitBreak booking fee is non-refundable.
8. Operator Cancellation
If the operator cancels the experience, TransitBreak will, where reasonably possible, arrange a suitable replacement operator or alternative.
If no suitable alternative can be provided or accepted, the TransitBreak booking fee paid online will be refunded in full.
If the confirmed operator fails to attend the agreed pickup and no suitable replacement is provided, the TransitBreak booking fee will be refunded in full.
9. Itinerary Changes, Weather & Events Beyond Our Control
Routes, attractions, stops and timings are planned but may be adjusted when reasonably necessary because of traffic, weather, flight timing, attraction closures, immigration delays, safety considerations or other operational circumstances.
Severe weather, government restrictions, airport disruption, road closures, natural disasters or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of TransitBreak or the operator may require an experience to be changed, delayed, rescheduled or cancelled.
Depending on the circumstances, an adjusted itinerary, rescheduling, an alternative experience or a refund may be offered.
Experience durations and itinerary timings are approximate unless expressly stated otherwise.
10. Luggage & Personal Belongings
Travelers carrying multiple, large or oversized bags should inform TransitBreak in advance so that suitable vehicle capacity can be checked.
Travelers remain responsible for their passports, luggage, valuables and other personal belongings during the experience.
11. Responsibility & Liability
Local tour operators are independent service providers responsible for operating and delivering their experiences, including their vehicles, personnel and on-the-ground services.
TransitBreak facilitates bookings and communication between travelers and operators but does not control circumstances such as airline operations, immigration decisions, airport procedures, traffic, weather or other events outside its reasonable control.
TransitBreak does not guarantee admission through immigration, airline schedules, specific traffic conditions or that external circumstances will not affect an itinerary.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TransitBreak is not responsible for losses arising solely from circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
12. General Terms
TransitBreak may refuse or cancel a booking where reasonably necessary because of suspected fraud, abusive or unsafe behavior, materially incorrect information, violation of these Terms, or legal or safety requirements.
Where these Terms provide for a full refund, this means a refund of the TransitBreak booking fee actually paid online to TransitBreak. Amounts paid directly to an operator are not held by TransitBreak and may be subject to separate arrangements with that operator.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights or other applicable laws that cannot legally be excluded. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.
TransitBreak may update these Terms from time to time. The Terms applicable to a booking are those in effect when the booking is made, unless a change is required by law.
